Adios to Blogger!

Hi All,

I am ending my time with Blogger! I have enjoyed sharing my knowledge up here but I would like to commit my free time for The4cProject to Facebook and YouTube (when I do return)! I will keep up all of my posts so that you can reference them in the future if you need to.

Thank you so much for reading my posts; I appreciate it! You can still follow me on my other social media platforms!

Considering Locs?!

Hey Y'all! So, yes, you read that right! I am *CONSIDERING* locs! As of right now, I am leaning towards yes but I have not made a final decision. I will over the next few weeks! Recently, my Husband has started his loc journey and that prompted me to consider locs. For years, he has always said locs would look so good on me and I never even thought about having them so I always said 'they are not for me!' I did not want to miss out on rocking twist outs, braid outs and, well, my huge fro. And, honestly, I did not know too much about them like the maintenance. I always thought they were beautiful on others but I never imagined them on myself. If I decide to go through with them, I will definitely make a video! In the meantime, I am researching loc specialists, loc inspiration and hairstyles, the pros and cons, the maintenance, start up, etc. If you have any suggestions or can share your experience/knowledge about locs, please feel free to drop your comment below or join the discussion on my Instagram page!

Thanks for the love and support! Until next time...

Quick Hair Update + Hair Plans | October 2018

Hey! Hey! Hey! I know it has been A WHILE!!! I know I will come back for a bit, whether on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram or Blogspot and then I will take a looong break away from social media! There are reasons for this, valid ones...sometimes lol! Just know, I am always thinking of you all and hope for the best! I do hope to be back soon and consistently; back to sharing my hair tips, goals, knowledge and secrets...my overall hair journey with you. And, once I am back, I will be back for good!

So, talking about hair! How has my hair been? Well, I will be honest, as I always have been with my journey. My hair is not the healthiest at the moment and has not been for quite some time. Sigh...Since I got pregnant back in fall 2016, I have struggled with staying committed to my hair care regimen. It has literally been two years since my hair has been very healthy. Yes, two years! I had some moments in between in which my hair was getting back to a good state but I found myself going backwards by missing wash days, neglecting my hair, choosing to do something else besides my hair, etc. The list goes on! Whatever the reason or excuse, I still put my hair on the back burner and now it is suffering because of that. I do have my moments in which I want to cut my hair off to "start over" and the next moment, I decide to keep my hair and try to baby it up so it can flourish once again. At this moment, my hair goal is to simply get my hair healthy again! That is all!

Now, that fall is here, I will be going back to my hair care regimen: https://the4cproject.blogspot.com/2017/01/my-hair-care-regimen-repost.html
It is going to be a HUGE transition getting back into following a regimen but I still love my hair and want to see it happy and healthy again! So, here we go....keep following my journey to see updates!

Thanks for continuing to be there! :) I appreciate y'all!

My 2018 #HairGoals!

Happy New Year! How exciting that we are blessed to be alive in 2018!? I pray this is a prosperous, amazing year for each and every one of you! Thank you for your continued support of #The4cProject! You all have been great and I appreciate your kindness over the years!

Ok, so, the new year is here! And, of course, with that comes new goals. I can honestly say since doing my third big chop on March 31, 2014 I have seen my hair go through many, many, many ups and downs. 2015 was the best year for my hair; it was at its healthiest and I was being consistent with my regimen and staple products. To be honest, I drifted away from properly taking care of my hair and saw it drastically change within the past few years BUT I am on a mission to get it very healthy, once again! I have created a realistic list of tasks that I plan to achieve this year in order for my #hairgoals to be met!

My 2018 Hair Goals:

* Mid-back length hair, when stretched (Currently, this is my ultimate hair length goal so it would be awesome to achieve this in 2018!)
* Thicker hair
* Healthier hair
* Be consistent with hair care regimen (and immediately get back on it if I slack off)
* Wear protective styles 6 months out of the year (not consecutively)
* Cut back on wearing puffs, buns and any style that creates extra tension on edges
* Use all natural and organic ingredients only
* Use 1-2 natural hair care brands only, by the end of the year
* Continue to encourage and help others on their #healthyhairjourney

Very realistic, right!? So, what are your hair goals for 2018? Care to share? Leave them down below; I'd love to hear what you have planned for your hair this new year!

Postpartum Shedding + Progress

Today on my Instagram page I posted a picture showing how my edges currently look. Let's just say my edges were snatched, literally! And, my right side is the only section that really suffered. Thankfully, my left side does not look too bad. Here's a different picture so you can see how my edges have reacted to recently having a baby over the summer #postpartumshedding:

October 19, 2017

And, this is how my edges look as of this month:

November 12, 2017

The area is not as bald looking and "obvious" and I am really excited to see progress! I have recently been massaging my scalp daily and applying my oil blend every few days. While I love wearing a good puff (it's such a quick, easy hairstyle) I have to take a break from it and those few steps have already helped that area to get some hair again! I am going to continue this massage and oil routine and see how it does for my hair and scalp. And, once my hair grows back in completely I will be taking a serious, necessary break from wearing puffs and any hairstyle that causes too much tension. They have been my go-to-hairstyle for much of my pregnancy and the months after but I have noticed puffs tend to be the hairstyle that does the most damage to the more fragile parts of my hair, IE: my edges! I will update at least monthly to show progress and keep you guys posted on my oil blend, since I know so many ask about it. Trust me, deets are coming sooner than later!

Introducing the #AtoZHairSeries!

Recently, I discussed on my YouTube channel that I will be starting a fun, creative hair-related challenge called the #AtoZHairSeries. In this 26-week long series, I will be recreating hairstyles that have been styled and worn by those in the natural hair community. I will be choosing a natural hair guru, stylist, influencer or content creator based off of their name and creating one of their looks. For instance, the first person I choose, their name or social media username will begin with an 'A.' I will recreate one of their looks and then find someone whose name/username begins with 'B' and continue going from there until I get to the letter 'Z.' Make sense? I want to showcase work from some of the "well-knowns" and up and coming, so I am looking at all pages! This series will also challenge me to get more creative with hairstyles while also learning new techniques. I am excited about doing something new and fresh and also offering natural hairstyle options.

So far I have already done the letter 'A' and recreated a look from someone many may know in the natural hair community. Go check out the video and see who I chose! And, let me know if you have any suggestions. The inspiration for letter 'B' will be uploaded this week! Who will be next?!
